Pink is for girls and blue is for boys right? So wrong!...Well at least not according to the history of the colour. I really dont want to take us back to the 18th century but am compelled to. See, in this age, pink was worn uniformly just like any other colour...then sometime after that (history chose not to specify when exactly), this changed. The general accepted rule became that Pink is for boys and Blue is for girls....wanna know the reason why?
.
.
.

The reason is that pink was viewed as a more decided and stronger colour...which off course according to people of those days was a character that could only be associated with boys. who became even more DECIDED and STRONG as they grew. God forbid that this character be mentioned in the same sentence as women...women who are more Dainty and Delicate, so blue which evoked this feeling was prettier for women.

Somewhere along the way this claim changed. Pink for girls and blue for boys. I cant quite say whose responsibility this was. The colour that was more associated with strength was now a girls colour...and boy didnt we flaunt and rock it. This change happened in the 1940s just when the standing of women in society began to shift. Apart from the general femininity evoked by the sheer thought of a woman, apart from us being tender, sweet, polite, sensitive and delicate there was a whole new wave of strength, determination, hard work, power and the ability to change the world. And yes we are that and much more.

I just feel that a new colour should be chosen for men, coz as sure as water is wet and night is dark, they definitely arent Dainty....am just saying ;-)
